On November 15th, 2022 Pima County Board of Supervisors voted 4-0, (Adelita Grijalva abstained) to appoint Pima County resident, U.S. Army veteran, and local Marana business owner Anton Chism to the Pima County Constable Service.
“I am honored to accept this position, and have a strong desire to help the community, and hold the belief in the importance of de-escalating conflicts,” Chism said following the announcement.
Chism served honorably in the U.S.ARMY running the S-2 section of a battalion. His duties included but were not limited to officer background clearances, and access to the secured comm vault. During this time, Chism managed over 1200 users and 850 computers, and wrote SOP’s & and managed soldiers and information systems.
Chism worked directly with DOIM, Dept of Information Management and DISA, Defense Information Systems Agency along with CASCOM, Combined Arms Support Command. His responsibilities directly supported the response of 9/11 and transported soldiers to the pentagon for the recovery of remains. Since then, Chism has worked for Comcast as a senior technician. He also worked for Raytheon as a Senior Information Assurance Security Officer.
Chism currently owns and manages Innovative Signs in Marana, Arizona and has volunteered several years with the PCSO academies.
Chism stated, “I want to fulfill this role because I see the need to help the community, especially in such sensitive and delicate times. I am currently an active member of Local Marana, the Marana Chamber of Commerce, and also a Tucson Conquistador. I am honored to be joining the Constables who put forth the extra effort to reach out to families and assist in identifying solutions rather than only knocking on their door and serving Writs of Restitution or Orders of Protection.”
Chism continued by saying, “This method reflects not only my moral compass, but also helps to decrease fear and conflict; on behalf of not only the person being served, but the Landlords, and the Constables. Lastly it shows I am a human with compassion. With that being said, while enforcing the judgments of the court, we have a responsibility to the people of the county.”
Please welcome Anton Chism as your new Pima County Constable.
